Four years ago :sam x jane 2x
now: sam x+4 jane 2x+4
Four years in from now: sam x+8 jane 2x+8
(2x+8)*3/4=x+8
6x+24=4x+32
2x=8
x=4
now: jane 2x+4=12
now: sam x+4 jane 2x+4
Four years in from now: sam x+8 jane 2x+8
(2x+8)*3/4=x+8
6x+24=4x+32
2x=8
x=4
now: jane 2x+4=12
