泰坦尼克号幕后制作
一、前期筹备
影片选拍摄地址，从零开始搭建一个包含蓄水槽的大型摄影基地，一开始定的是马耳他的一个天然水坑，但当地政府以破坏环境为由，不予放行。
最终选定的是墨西哥罗萨里托的一个沿海开发区，经过了漫长的谈判，福斯公司买下了罗萨斯托40英亩的土地，还另购置60英亩以备不时之需 。
二、场景搭建
团队在搭建人工湖、摄影棚的同时，泰坦尼克号巨大的船体模型也在艺术总监Charles Lee的带领下建造着。一开始团队打算用临时的帆布来搭建这些场景，但是考虑到拍摄周期将会很长，最后决定使用钢结构。
为了进度，船上的布景建设必须同时进行。还有大部分的内部设施，舱餐厅、那个豪华楼梯等都是在墨西哥城制作完成，再拆开运到罗萨里托，再由工作人员装配起来 。
三、版本转换
《泰坦尼克号》3D版本工程浩大，不论是时间还是成本，在规格上都堪比制作一部新电影。詹姆斯·卡梅隆参与了每一帧画面的转制过程，有300位计算机工程师为此辛苦了逾60周，
他们要画出每一个物体和每个角色脸部的轮廓，放进正确的深度位置，并且通过非常精巧的处理让这些效果完全融入并不留痕迹。因原版《泰坦尼克号》没有数字母带，所以转制3D从修复开始，先清理掉原来2D素材的噪点，尽量让影片像全新的
