Smith 先生给她的朋友David写了一封信。信中讲到他的孩子经常花很多时间打电话，为此他很烦恼，想请David提供一些建议。

Dear Mr Smith,
Thank you for your letter, and I have learned that you have problems with your children from spending too much on phoning friends. The truth is that this is a very modern problem most parents are facing nowadays. My children too had the same issue not so long ago, so perhaps I can share my experience with you.
My method of solving such problem starting by telling them that you don't mind them doing so but them have to be kept to the minimum without doing any harm to school and homework. Teaching money doesn't grow on trees, which they must value it. Set a time limit for using their phone. If they don't listen then make them pay for the phone calls from the allowance or simply punish them by giving them no allowance at all. All these worked well with my children.
