我坚持要求爸爸戒烟酒，所以would应该去掉或者改为should（虚拟语态是should加动词原形，should可以省略，正规的语法认为不应加should，因为会有歧义，但是在英式英语中这样用是被允许的）
insist如果表示”坚持说，坚持认为“， 从句的时态由句意来定：the thief insisted that he was innocent.这个小偷坚持说自己是无辜的，在这句里从句不用虚拟语态。
3， it was their hope that...把their改为his/her,因为主语是the foreign minister，代词指代有误。
4， 改为mother told me to follow.... 固定搭配：ask somebody to do something.
