This paper carrys out a in-depth study on IPv6 and introduces three integration and synergy approaches between IPv6 and IPv4: Tunneling technology, Dual-stack and NAT-PT. This provides theoretical basis for transition from IPv4 to IPv6 utill the localization of IPv6. Finally, by selecting and deploying specific topological structure, the paper discusses about the feasibility of realizing IPv6. Appart from that, the techniques of designing, deploying and debugging IPv6 on Cisco router are also been discussed.
