Everyone knows a good mother will do anything to look after her child. Recently, an accident in Washington’s Colville National Park showed that mother’s love is the greatest again.

On September 2nd, the Impeys went for a hike in the mountains, and were enjoying the beautiful scenery(风景). Mark, the father, and one of his sons walked a bit in front of the other one, Simon and the mother named Dawn. But they both went back when they heard a terrible scream(尖叫). A lion had jumped onto the way and caught Simon’s head.

Fortunately, there was a metal water bottle in Dawn’s hand. She beat the animal quickly to get him to let her son go. The lion bit(咬) the mother’s hands several times. But the brave mother kept fighting against the lion. Finally, the animal moved back into the bushes, and the family made a quick escape down the mountain.

As soon as they arrived at the parking place, they realized that the lion had followed them the whole way. However, the family were able to quickly get help and arrived at a hospital minutes after leaving. Simon got a medical care soon and his parents were told that his injuries weren’t very serious.

Now, Simon is feeling better again. As for Dawn, maybe she’ll get a special Mother’s Day present next year.
