这里从句需要的是主语，因此不能用宾格whom
Counting his money was not easy for him, so he (generally) showed the cashier what he had and they helped him decide.
这里修饰动词showed要用副词generally，不用形容词general
However, he just had a couple of singles and (some) change.
change零钱，是不可数名词，前面要加some
(Seeing) that, a young girl walked up and handed them several dollars and (some) change.
seen是被看见，这里是女孩看到...，因此要用ing现在分词形式
后面的change也应该有some为好（原文出的或许有错，但出题人并没看出有问题，毕竟是中国老师出的题嘛）
He (was) shocked and didn't understand why.
他感到很震惊，吃惊，应该用被动高不成低不就，但后面用and，似乎也不大好

thank someone for...为...而感谢某人（感谢某人做某事），要用for，但对某人说感谢要用thanks to(亏于...，归于...)
而且，后面也应该用句号，不应该用感叹号

act of kindness这是固定用法，善举，没有错
后面的从句要用that引导，这是一个宾语从句，that是连词，没有意义
后面的have不能用had，因为had 是指过去有的
