有关定语从句的几个语法问题

有关定语从句的几个语法问题1 This is the dictionary for which I paid 5 dollars. 为什么用which不用what？是限定从句还是非限定？加不加逗号？
2 Children are always happy on the day on which summer vacation begins. 第二个on有必要吗？
3 The reason why I was away from school is that I was ill yesterday. that可省略吗？
4Recently I bought an ancient Chinese vase,the price of which was very reasonable. of which为何不提到the price前面？

1. 这个是限定从句，是介词+which的形式，从句I paid 5 dollars for，所以前面只能用which . 定语从句用关系代词（that which who whom whose）和关系副词（when where why）引导，what不用在定语从句中；

2. 有必要的。因为on+which在这句话中=when，所以此时的on 必不可少；

3. that 在这句话中引导是表语从句，一般不省略；省略情况有：

• 不定式做主语；

• advice wish plan 等词做主语，从句是should do 表虚拟的时候；

  4.属于非限定性从句，the price of which =whose price；也可以是and its price；

1 　for which：为了......；因为.....。
pay for 是个词组，for 提前了，dictionary后面是定语从句，所以要用for which 。 which指的就是字典。 这句不是非限定性定语从句。不需要加逗号。

2 on 指的是在哪一个暑假。当然是有必要的 。

3 这个that 是表语从句的引导词 不要省略为好。
4 the price of which was very reasonable， 这个of 是修饰price 的 不能提前。

which 指花瓶，the price of which = the price of an ancient Chinese vase
