构建和谐社会需要社会方方面面为之努力，对网络来说更负有重要使命，因为网络媒体是传播新闻信息的一个新媒体，也是增强社会方方面面沟通的一个新渠道，更是我们思想文化领域的一个新阵地。它有传统媒体不可替代的独特作用，已经受到政府、社会方方面面广大群众、特别是青少年的喜爱，已经成为影响社会发展进步的一个重要领域。网络媒体如果能够趋利避害，加强科学管理，一定能够为社会的进步发挥重要作用。但是，反过来说，如果不能够正确认识、积极使用、科学管理的话，对社会将产生严重的破坏作用，所以网络媒体作为一种工具，的确具有双重效应，特别是对于和谐社会的建设，更肩负着重要的使命。

to establish a harmonious society needs the work of different aspects, especially the network, because network is a new media to transfer news, and also a new way of communication in different area, it is also a new area of our thought and culture. It is not substitutable for the conventional culture. It has been accepted by the goverment, people in different areas of our society, especially teenagers, it is affecting the society's progress. But, in another way, if it is not used properly, positively, effectively, it will causes serious problems, so networt as a tool, has two different effects, especially to the development of harmonious society, it really acts as a big role.
