NPV analysis---Net present value
NPV is one of the most important measurments for investment analysis.
As the new machinery been purchased, there will be related cost and revenue brought accordingly.
Therefore, you need to estimate how much cost (initial investment, maintainance fees, labor...)and revenue(the improved production volum may increase the sales figure, and then the current revenue will be imporved, also the new machinery might save certain cost, which could be regard as another source of cashflow). then you will have a roughly idea about the total net cashflow generated by this machine per year until the machine's estimated life ends
Based on these anual net cashflow figures, now you can conduct the NPV analysis to see whether this new machine is worth to invest.
