A hungry lion sat watching a fat bull feeding in a field.
“If only bulls didn’t have horns,” thought the lion greedily, “then I could soon eat him up.”
Suddenly he had an idea. Sidlingup to the bull he said in a friendly voice, “I am admiring you, Mr Bull. I hope you don’t mind. What a handsome head you have! What big, strong shoulders! What powerful legs! If I may say so.But I don’t see why you stand those horns. They must give you quite a headache and they do destroy your appearance,you know?”
“Do you think so?” said the bull. “I never thought about it.Now that you mentioned it the horns might really get in the way and destroy my appearance. Let me see.”
The lion went away silently and hid behind a tree to watch. The bull waited until the lion was out of sight, then began to hit his head violently against a rock. First one horn splintered ,then the other until soon the bull’s head was smooth and bare.
“Aha,” cried the lion, jumped with snarl. “Thank you so much for getting rid of your horns. They were the only thing that stopped me from catching you before.”

狮子静悄悄走了，藏在了一棵树下注视着。公牛一直等到不见狮子了，就开始将头在一块岩石上猛撞，一只角先碎掉了，之后另一只也碎掉了，公牛的头很快就光秃秃的了。
“嗷，”狮子吼叫道，一边跳一边咆哮着，“非常感谢你把你的两只角弄掉，它们是唯一使我以前不能抓到你的障碍！”
