In other words, many problems, such as lack of education, the widening gap between the wealthy and the needy and uncontrolled gun markets, will breed more violence but not armed police officers. Also, the police carrying guns seems to be an efficient way to control violence. Specifically, they can pose an alarm to potential criminals so that they are afraid to commit crimes or other violent acts. Besides, when there is a real fight between the police and the offenders, the armed police officers can use weapons to bring the bad person under control. As a result, carrying guns is a good way to curb violence.
