Hello everyone！ My name is xxx， a student fromxxxx college. I am glad to give you a speech about my university. The title of my speech is My college， my home.
Last September I left my hometown with heavy baggage and after a journey of ten hours， I came to this dream campus with great expectation and excitement.
I was deeply attracted by the elegant environment of our campus the moment I stepped into the university. Straight， wide roads enjoyed the shade and shelter provided by lordly， green trees. Ancient buildings of great refinement enjoyed the company of flocks of birds flying and singing overhead. Scrolls of warm welcome greeted me and volunteers with smiles came to my help. My heart was filled with warmth. Yeah， this is the place where I will spend 4 years and this place will be my home！
Whenever I recall the past days， so many thoughts are flooding in my mind. But what impressed me most is a night when I got a stomachache during the first days. I had to turn to the aunts in charge of our dormitory for help. They were so friendly and warm—hearted. They gave me the pills and reminded me of having more hot water. I recovered soon and I thanked them from the bottom of my heart because they brought me the warmth of home.
Our university is a famous academic center. The teaching staff are all learned professors. Many of them are world—wide known for their wide range of knowledge and charming personality. I respect my teachers！ I admire my teachers！ I love my teachers！ Various activities are carried here. They not only bring me happiness but also improve myself. I meet with a lot of classmates and make a large number of friends. When I feel upset， the will give me a hand； when I am happy， I will share with them. Nothing Succeeds Without a Strong Will “Where there is a will, there is way” is an old proverb which almost everyone knows, but not all understand it so well.
Actually, it means that if you are really resolved to do something, no matter how difficult it might be, never give up. In fact, strong will is a kind of good quality which successful people should own. A great man is always one who has a firm resolution and an inflexible spirit.
One will never succeed all his life without a firm will to get the final victory. As a rule, great tasks are accomplished by men of strong will. For example, Dr. Sun Yatsen, the founder of the Republic of China, set the Chinese people free from the Manchurian rule through a long period of hard struggle.
Many of his attempts failed and many of his followers were killed, but he had an inflexible spirit and stuck to his cause. Finally, he made the revolution of 1911 a success. The same is true of men in all walks of life. It is quite obvious that there is nothing difficult in the world, if you make up your mind to do it, you will certainly accomplish your end. That stands to reason.
So as for students like us, we should have a good attitude towards failure. Facing with difficulties and failures, keep heads up and never give up. Besides, we should make full preparation, though strong will help us overcome the difficulties, it is not for person who has no preparation.
