The inspector suggested that he was lying because, that morning, the 8 o'clock train broke down, so the man must have caught the 8.25. 最主要是so后面这句话不知做何解。because, that morning, the 8 o'clock train broke down .是状语从句；The inspector suggested that he was lying. 是主句；so the man must have caught the 8.25.这句话又是个什么东东呢。关键是so又不是连接词，因为because与so不能出现在同一个句子中，so 只能做副词.但是副词不能连接两个分句，请学英语的朋友帮忙解答。

如果讲语法，可以这样看：because是解释he was lying 这个结果的；他撒的谎是没赶上，而事实是赶上了，所以so也是跟着he was lying 的。。。

也可能是句子本身有些问题，再如果，你看的文章是外国人写的，要知道他们日常生活不会那么严谨，也许为了语调的连贯···

按照句意理解的话，应该是：所以那个男人应该在8:25被捕。这句话就是所有前面内容的总结，所以应该没有什么问题。
