There are many ways of matting in Photoshop image processing. However, to choose a specific way during processing an image, depands on the property of the image. For some simple images that background and foreground colors are relatively obvious or whose colors are single, you can choose some simple and forthright matting tools like Magic Wand Tool, Marquee tool and Color Range. If object image has fair clear edges, you can use your Lasso tool. But for the image with highly precise selection, you are adviced to creat a path. As for other superior methods like channel matting and mask matting, are suitable for those images with more color values, dense block and domain and complicated and incoherent edges.
