can和could的用法有什么不同

一，都有表示“能够”的意思，could 是can 的过去式。
二，在提问的时候could 比can 更加委婉，eg: could i use the book? 比can i use the book?更加客气。
三，can 有表猜测的意思。eg: look at the girl in red, she can't be my teacher, my teacher is in the office.看那穿红色衣服的女孩，一定不是我的英语老师，我老师在办公室里。
