为什么选d，而不是选c呢？我觉得c和d都差不多

1. That引导的从句中的谓语动词是is (now politically stable and economically robust)，而will continue to do so就错了，应该说成will continue to be so，因为do只能指代实义动词，如：He said he would tell me the news, but he didn't do so.

2. C显然不对，因为选C的话，句子就run-on了（即逗号不能连接2个完整的句子）
B选项考核的是with + n. + v-ing / v-ed的结构，这个结构在SAT中出现过多次，是个非常重要的结构，必须要掌握的。如OG中P470的第8题(with each of the memebers shaving)，2010年10月份Section 10的第10题也考过，可以关注一下。

3. 必须要掌握的“逻辑主语一致题”。句子是以过去分词set开头，意思是“场景设置在16世纪”，其逻辑主语只能是“the comtemporary opera Galileo Galilei”了。不能选C的原因也很明显，即在SAT中能不用被动就不用被动，主动和被动表达相同意思的且语法都正确的情况下，要选主动。C用了被动语态，而且C表达意思重心是这部戏由谁来写的，而D用了主动，且表达的重心是这部戏受到了当代观众的热烈欢迎。

4. SAT中的时态题主要考法有2种，一种是有时间状语的，那么根据时间状语来决定时态；还有一种是没有时间状语的，要根据整句话中不划线部分的时态来决定划线部分时态是否正确。
本题中，did James laugh和James simply did not find都是一般过去时，这就决定这个句子的时态范畴应该属于过去，而划线部分用了has been telling是现在完成进行时，属于现在时态范畴，明显错误了。要么改成had been telling，要么改成was telling或者told。

为什么不能用 has been telling呢？这句话里有没有具体的表示时间的标志

现在完成时的被动~这个人被告诉。而他用的是现在完成进行时，没有被动。而且这里没有一段时间，也就是进行时的提示词，所以用进行时不对。没有被动更不对。这是在考你对现在完成时的被动结构的了解。不该错~~~

然后第2题
你选的答案live没有介词与前面链接，而且，两句句子也无法连接，没有连词and。原句是一个非限定性定语从句，正确答案是 伴随状态 的用法，我也说不太清，一般是用现在分词联结两句句子做伴随状态的，这里因为有一个介词所以提前了吧~
