Hello, good morning / good afternoon / good evening everyone.
It’s an honour for me to be able to stand up here in front of you all. Today, I would like to talk about our planet earth——our beautiful precious world and the problems, which now it’s facing. As we all know that our planet is unique, one of its kind in the entire solar system and indeed the only one known in the entire universe!
Well then, what is making our world so special? Of course it is the air we can breathe in that none of the other planets in our solar system has. We also have got water making our world look blue from the outer space, which gives life others also lack of. During the making of these unique conditions, our world had gone through a lot of changes and threats in its entire course of 4.54billion years. But those were natural disasters such as hit by a giant meteor, which was one of the reasons that the scientists blame for the extinction of the dinosaurs.

能够站在这里面对著大家说话我觉得非常荣幸，今天我要对大家说的是 行星地球 — 我们美好珍贵的世界与及它现在正面临的大问题。 大家都应知道，我们这个行星是整个太阳糸亦实是整个宇宙里独一无二的。
那究竟是甚麼原因我们这个世界会如此独特呢? 无可置疑地，我们呼吸到的空气是其它行星没有的，除此，我们还有水，使在外太空望下能见到一个蓝色美丽的世界，而水亦是生命之源，其它星球也无法找到的。地球在形成这些独特的条件的期间，45亿多年的过程里，曾经过无数次的转变和威胁。但那些只属於自然的灾祸，如被流星击中，科学家们亦把之归入恐龙绝种的其中一个原因。

But now it is different. The human wisdom had improved the world technologically. Unfortunately all things come with a price. The price for these advancements is environmental pollutions and damages. Ever since the industrial revolution of the mid-18th century, People were slowly killing our beautiful living world. Stage by stage they discharged huge amount of polluted air into the atmosphere and foul water into our rivers. Now, our Ozone is in great danger of being destroyed. Once the Ozone is gone, we shall have no protection from the radiation of the sun. Many of us will die with cancer and others will soon follow. Finally we will extinct like the dinosaurs, the dodos and many others before us. Our wonderful world will gradually become
the same as other planets in the solar system with no life anymore!
但是现在的情形已经不同了，人类的智慧使用科技化把世界改善了，很可惜的是，世界上没有不用付出代价的东西，换取文明先进的代价便是地球环境的破坏与污染。打从18世纪中叶的工业大革命开始，人们便已慢性地在谋杀我们这个可爱和有生命的世界。一步一步地，大量废汽被排放到大气层去，大量污水进入了我们的河道，现在的臭氧层已面临被毁灭的危险。若一旦失去了臭氧层的话，便会失去对太阳辐射的保护，我们很多都会染癌而死，其他的亦很快跟著死亡，终於会步恐龙、多多鸟和其它东西之後尘而绝种。我们这个可爱的世界慢慢地会变成和其它星球一样，将不再会有生命的存在。

To save our beautiful living world is not a job for any individual, a single country or a single government but the entire human race. We all have a role to play. Everyone should do a small part, not just for your own sake but for all, for the world and most importantly, for our future generations to come. Please be sensible, think environmentally friendly, not to hurt our world anymore, and teach the young to follow your steps in order to make our world a better place to live tomorrow and many future years to come.I thank all of you for listening.
而挽救我们的世界并不是个人也非单个国家或单个政府，而是全人类的责任。我们大家都应担当起自己的角色，每人各尽所能，那并不是全为了你自己，却是为了大众而最重要的是为了我们的後代设想。请明智一点，要多考虑对环境友善，不要再伤害我们的世界，也要教导年轻的追随你的步伐，使我们的世界有一个更好的明天与更好的未来，人类能得以安居。

　各位敬爱的老师，亲爱的同学们：
　　大家好！今天我演讲的题目是：保护地球，爱我家园。
　　大家都知道，环保就是环境保护。但是地球这颗美丽富饶的蓝色星球，在人类的破坏下，已经遍体鳞伤，保护环境，已迫在眉睫。
　　在不远的从前，南美洲有一种鸽子叫候鸽，数量庞大，当几十亿只鸽子飞过森林时，整个天空都被盖住了，但因为人们发现其食用价值后肆意捕杀，加上环境的恶化、森林的减少，鸽子在一天天的减少，1914年，最后一只候鸽在动物园的笼中死去，这种美丽的鸟儿彻底灭绝了。当时美国降半旗致哀。
　　人类的这种肆意破坏环境的行为不仅能使动物绝种，也能使气候剧变。酸雨、全球变暖、海平面上升、浮冰融化、冰架崩塌、沙尘暴……这些自然灾害，全部都是人类的“杰作”。大家知道全球变暖的过程中，1度需要什么代价吗？美国科学家经过实验论证，得出一个惊人的结论：地球平均温度上升1度，会使农作物大量的减产；极地上升2度，融化的水将会淹没地球90%的土地；上升3度，地球上的一切生态系统都将崩溃。
　　那么，造成气候剧变的原因是什么呢？是因为人们肆意砍伐森林、使土地荒芜，人们肆意捕杀，使动物灭绝。人们建起一座座化工厂，化工厂的废气可以“钻”开臭氧层，使阳光中的紫外线直接照到地球的表面，能造成人中暑、患上皮肤癌、加速冰融化等严重的后果。
　　对于环境保护，我们能做些什么？下面，我来告诉大家几点我们能做到的措施：
　　第一、尽量不要使用一次性筷子，使用一次性筷子过多，会导致人们更加努力的砍伐树木。
　　第二、节约水电，水龙头用过后要关紧，因为一个滴水的水龙头半个小时就可浪费1。8升的水。电灯用后及时关闭，这样既可防止电能浪费，又能避免发生火灾。
　　第三、不要乱丢废电池、塑料瓶等物品。一节电池中的化学废料就可使一平方米的土地失去利用价值。
　　最后，我呼吁，作为未来的接班人，我们应当团结起来，保护地球，爱我家园！谢谢大家！
