定语从句的引导词有2个作用，1是起到引导从句的作用；2是代替先行词在从句中充当相应的句子成分
1. 这就是他父亲曾经工作过的工厂。填where. where 引导的定语从句修饰先行词the factory,在从句中做地点状语，意思相当于 in the factory. 整个从句的意思就相当于 his father used to work in the factory.
2. 这是我一直都想去的城市。填that 或which,所引导的定语从句修饰先行词the city,在从句中做visit的宾语，that或which的意思就相当于the city,整个从句的意思相当于i have been expecting to visit the city.
3. 她正在寻找她昨天所丢失的自行车。填that 或which，所引导的定语从句修饰先行词her bike,在从句中做lost的宾语.
4.一栋新的教学楼将在原来是剧院的地方建起来。填where, 引导的是地点状语从句。
5. 当你看书时，最好在不明白的地方做标记。填that 或which，引导定语从句修饰the part, 在从句中做understand 的宾语。
