The army was built to protect the tomb of the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang, and is now considered one of the greatest archaeological finds of the century.
Besides the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Xi’an also has many other places worth visiting. The ancient City Wall, which dates back to the Ming Dynasty, is one of the best-preserved city walls in China. Visitors can rent bikes and ride along the wall to get a panoramic view of the city.
Another must-see attraction is the Muslim Quarter. Located in the heart of the city
In the Han Dynasty, Xi'an was called Chang'an, which means "a place of permanent peace". It was not until the prosperous Tang Dynasty that Chang'an became famous both at home and abroad as the largest and busiest international metropolis of that age in the world.
