Initially, the speaker talks about a lot of causes, concerning the injuries of the cornea, including being hit in eyes, and getting chemicals in the eyes. He says that if your face is hit by something, your eyes, particularly the cornea, may get hurt. Then, the speaker discusses some causes of the corneal ulcers, such as chronic dryness, injury, infection, and nutritional deficiency.
From the passage, the writer introduces that different injury part of the cornea may lead to the different impact on your vision. Obviously, the most serious injury occurs in the center of the cornea. There are many kinds of the symptoms of corneal injuries and ulcers, including eye pain, sensitivity to light, bloodshot eyes, inflammation, scar tissue, and vision problems. For example, the injury called keratitis can result from wearing hard contact lenses for too long or by overexposure to ultraviolet light.
Fortunately, some of these eyes' problems now could be treated by using antibiotic ointment, drops, artificial tears, or by wearing an eye patch.
