真不愿做这种破题句。第一题，将of all去掉就是一个较好的句子：
What frightened us most was that not a sound could be heard.
最上我们感到害怕是听不见一点声音。
析：原句为了增加句子难度，让人不容易理解你说的是什么，在题句中人为加入of all, 好象是：“在所有的事情当中”，但放入句子中，容易与most结合，从而产生理解上的混乱。事实上是没有这种说法的。
第二题选B。
但题句意不是很好。作为状语，多为原因。
