摘要
机器学习(Machine Learning)是研究计算机怎样模拟或实现人类的学习行为，以获取新的知识或技能，重新组织已有的知识结构使之不断改善自身的性能。它是人工智能的核心，是使计算机具有智能的根本途径，其应用遍及人工智能的各个领域，它主要使用归纳、综合而不是演绎。
机器学习是人工智能应用的重要研究领域。现有的计算机系统和人工智能系统没有什么学习能力，至多也只有非常有限的学习能力，因而不能满足科技和生产提出的新要求。对机器学习的讨论和机器学习研究的进展，必将促使人工智能和整个科学技术的进一步发展 。
本文详细介绍机器学习的基本结构、发展过程及各种分类，系统的阐述了统计学习理论。

Machine Learning is a study about how the computer simulate or realize human learning

behavior to get new knowledge or skills, to reorganize knowledge structure, on the whole, to

improve its own performance. It is the core of the artificial intelligence and it is the basic way of

making the computer intelligence, with its's applications throughout every field. Mainly the

meathod are induction, synthesization rather than deduction.
　　
Machine learning is an important research field of artificial intelligence application. The

existing computer system and artificial intelligence system have no learning ability, or, at best,

only have very limited ability to learn,which therefore cannot satisfy the new requirements of

technology and production. The discussion and research of machine learning will push the

artificial intelligence and science and technology to further development.
　　
This paper will give a introduction of the basic structure, development process and all

kinds of classification of machine learning in details, and systematically give an elaboration on

statistical learning theory.
