You know how pleased you are to receive a letter from a friend, and how eagerly you open and read it. Reading friendly letters is an enjoyable thing. In fact, it is a way of visiting those friends and family members we cannot see and talk to every day. When you write a letter, think about the person to whom you are writing. What will he want to know? Try to put yourself in his place.
In answering a letter, first answer the questions your friend may have asked, say something about what he has told you. Also write about the things you would tell your friend as if he were sitting beside you--- about an exciting game, a party you have enjoyed. Tell him whom you met, what they said, and how things are going.
You may ask questions in your letter. A person likes to know you are interested in what he may say in reply.
