K-pop ,an abbreviation of Korean pop or Korean popular music
It's\a musical genre consisting of pop, bubblegum pop, dance, electronic, electropop, hip hop, rock, and R&B music originating in South Korea.In addition to music, K-pop has grown into a popular subculture among teenagers and young adults around the world.
Although in a bigger scope K-pop may include other genres of "popular music" within South Korea, outside of the country the term is more commonly used for songs sung by Korean idols, which covers mostly dance, electronic, rap, hip-hop, and R&B genres.
Starting in 1992, dance and rap music became popular due to Seo Taiji & Boys, which is seen as the beginning of modern K-pop.
Genres such as ballad and rock are still popular today.
Since the mid-2000s, the Korean Wave has driven a visible spread of K-pop first across the Pacific Rim, before subsequently reaching out to the Americas, Eurasia, and North Africa. According to the news agency Reuters, the success of PSY's single "Gangnam Style" has led to other K-pop artists positioning themselves for a similar breakthrough in the U.S. music industry,as Big Bang, G-Dragon and Girls' Generation made their debut on the Billboard 200 albums' chart,[
and 2NE1's performance at the Prudential Center in New Jersey was selected by The New York Times as one of the "Best Concerts of 2012".

By tapping onto social media networks, the ability of K-pop to reach a previously inaccessible audience via the Internet is driving a shift in the exposure and popularity of the genre.

dear john,thank you very much for your letter. i am glad that you enjoyed your holiday with me. we enjoyed having you and your sister here. we hope that you will both be able to (能够) come again next year. perhaps you’ll be able to stay longer next time you come. a week is not really long enough, is it? if your school has five weeks’ holiday next year, perhaps you’ll be able to stay with us for two or three weeks.we have been long back at school three weeks now. it feels like three months! i expect that you are both working very hard now that you are in grade one. i shall have to work hard next year when i am in grade one. tom and ann won’t be in grade one until 2006. they went for a picnic(野餐) yesterday but i didn’t go with them because i cut my food and i couldn’t walk well. they went to an island(岛) and enjoyed themselves there. do you still remember the island? that’s where all five of us spend the last day of our holiday.tom, ann and i send our best wishes to betty and you. we hope to see you soon. yours sincerely, michael
