A: Are you doing anything next weekend?
B: Yes, my nephews are coming and I am going to show them round London.
A: Are you taking them to the theatre? ( = have you booked seats? )
B: No, they're too young for that. I am going to take them to the zoo.

而be doing 是用瞬间动词的现在进行时表示将来时，将要干某事。

e.g. I'm meeting Tom at the station at six.(我和汤姆有约在先)
I'm staying in tonight. I've got loads of paperwork to do.(There's no suggestion that the speaker wants to stay in, which is the case when we use"be going to")
2、而be going to 侧重强调主观意愿（intention）
e.g. I'm going to meet Tom at the station at six.(汤姆可能会因此感到意外)

错句，next weekend是将来，正确提问应该是，What are you going to do next weekend或者What will you do next weekend
