1.从 When 开始又是一个状语从句了，句中只有一个谓语动词，就是 attacked，所以空中不能再有其他谓语，而A中的 are ,C 中的 were ,D中的 belong to，都是谓语，所以只有C符合要求
2.考词义辨析:A.persistence 是坚持不懈的意思，持久性，褒义词；B.perseverance,恒心，坚持不懈的意思，褒义词；C. insistance,是个人主张，极力坚持，顽固不化的意思，贬义词；D.instance,例子的意思=example,这里是因为长的象C做干扰用的。
