第一个应该选c,因为pick up 有好转的意思.面rise up 则无此意,你们之所以选A,是完全局限于表面意思.
第三个是对的,至于上面那位说的选c则不行,因为either只能用于肯定句.
第四个应该选A,因为having在这儿作伴随状语,如果你不理解的话,你可以将who had nothing but a record of misery and hunger视为插入语,这样你就不难理解了.
