Bat always symbolizes fortune and blessing in Chinese traditional culture and can be found in many folk designs. Bian Fu, which stands for bat in Chinese language, includes the same pronunciation of blessing. That's why it's taken as a symbol for good luck. Instead, bat is an animal scared and detested by people in western countries, because they always associate it with bad things.

Bat,in Chinese tradition,stands for happiness and goodness,which is adopted in various patterns. Bat, (bianfu in chinese)sounds like happiness(xingfu in chinese). However, westerners are afraid of and hate it, only thinking of bad things.

bianfu(bat) symbolize happiness and auspicious in Chinese traditional culture, is widely adopted in pattern design in civil,the second syllable of Bianfu(bat) is homophonous with fu(lucky) ,so people hope to get lucky through it。but westerners consider it as ill oman ,show fear and disgust
