Turkey(火鸡)在英语中人们赋予它丰富的内涵，talk turkey(打开天窗说亮话)，cold turkey(突然停止，完全戒除)；而对于中国人来说它不过是一种普通的动物而已，火鸡这一动物词不会给他们带来任何联想!

straightforwardly or getting down to business, cold turkey means complete and abrupt
withdrawal of all addictive drugs or anything else on which you have become dependent.
To a Chinese, it is only a common animal .Turkey doesn't make any subliminal connection
in his minds.
