The translation of the first sentence also reflects the different ideas of the three translators. Liang's version of "the eye of heaven" is "taiyang", while Wu's is "tiansheng de yanjing". One of them choose literality, while the other use liberal translation. But, their meanings stil conform with the original. Although Gu's version also literally translate it as "tianyan", this version he adds an "renjian" into the poem as a pure subjective understanding of the original, which responses to the phenomenal that based on the distinguished translation principles, the translator of different ages use different ways to deal with translation of the original. These various versions indeed are the product of the times. This is another way to exemplify subjectivity of translator in this peom.

Liang translates 'the eye of heaven' as the sun (太阳） which adapts to the English context, while Zhu's version is in accordance with the source language by translating it as 天生的眼睛。 However, both of them tend to be conform to the source language in translating this sentence. By contrast, although Gu also translates it as 天眼(the eye of the God), he adds the word 人间(the earth) in his version to render a fully subjective interpretation of the source text. This reflects that different translators in different times use distinct translation styles and strategies, under the guidance of somewhat disparate translation principles. Besides, the authoritative status of translator is well embodied in the poem translation.
