题目如下：
James
Morris is a sole trader whose financial year ends on 31 December. He has provided you with the following
information:

Rent payable
On
1 October 1997, James Morris signed a lease on a warehouse at an original rent
of £12,800 per annum. The rent increased
to £16,000 per annum from 1 January 1999, with a further increase to £20,000
per annum from 1 January 2000. Rent is
payable quarterly in advance, and payments were made by cheque on the due dates
except for the amount due on 1 October 2000, which was not paid until 1 January
2001.

Rent receivable

On 1 January 1998, James Morris sub-let part of the warehouse at an annual rent of
£6,000. This rent was payable
half-yearly in advance on 1 January and 1 July each year. The rent was increased to £8,000 per annum
from 1 January 2000. Amounts were all
received on due dates, by cheque.

Business rates
The
annual rates payable were:
1 April 1998 to 31 March 1999 £4,500

1 April 1999 to 31 March 2000 £5,100

1 April 2000 to 31 March 2001 £6,000

Rates
are payable half-yearly in advance on 1 April and 1 October each year. All payments were made on the due dates, by
cheque.

Interest receivable
An
investment of £80,000 was made on 30 September 1998. This investment earns interest at 10%
per annum, and the interest is receivable half-yearly, in arrears, on 31 March
and 30 September, each year. A further
sum of £24,000 was invested, at the same rate of interest, on 30 September
1999. All interest payments were
received on the due dates by cheque.

REQUIRED
Write up the ledger accounts for the four
accounts named above for the period 1 January 1999 to 1 January 2001, showing
the transfers to Profit & Loss Account at 31 December each year. Dates of transactions are to be clearly
identified.
