是关于 even if的问题，，， even if 也是个连词 那么为什么even if 后面接的句子中的 与前面的句子等同的部分 不能省略呢？
譬如： They suspended the strike in April to negotiate with the government ( )announced early this month they would resume theire demonstration. 答案是 but ， 但为什么不能使even if？ 有人说是因为even if 连接的两个句子 重叠的部分不能省略 - even if 也是个连词但为什么不能省略它连接的两个句子的重叠部分

明显不能用even if 替换。理由：

1. 句意
如果换作even if，已经改变了句子原意。
[They suspended the strike in April to negotiate with the government] but [announced early this month they would resume theire demonstration].

前半句话发生在前，后半句话发生在后，这是有时间顺序的。如果改成even if，句意就变为 后半句话发生顺序在前了。

2. 语法
使用even if 也完全可以省略重复部分，但是在这句话中却是有语法错误的。
eg. Even if frustrated, I still want to do sth. = Even if I was frustrated...
而这句话中，如果用even if，就变成--->> They suspended the strike in April to negotiate with the government even if they are announced early this month they would resume theire demonstration.
显然是错误的，they 是 announce 的主语，而不是宾语。
