From this table, we can find that there're more and more personal cars, buses and subways within these years. They have risen at an annual rate of 25%, 20% and 15% respectively. From my point of view, main reason lies in several aspects as below.

Fristly, with the development of Chinese economy, people have become richer and richer and they pay more emphasis on their life quality and basic necessities of life. More convenient transportation vehicles are demanded.
Secondly,traffic jams have become one of the basic problems of most cities. There're too many cars on the roads and you could hardly move during rush hours. Diverse vehicles are necessary to ease traffic congestion situation.
Thirdly, all countries are attaching great importance on environment protection. To reduce the emission of greenhouse gases, it's very important to develop and encourage public transportation like bus and subway.

Above all, we shall somewhat restrict the increasing of personal cars and encourage people to take public vehicles as much as possilbe.

Nowadays, to our horror, pollution is visible. Do you still remember the heavy fog in Beijing couple of weeks ago? In my eyes, pollution is mainly caused by all the cars on the road. Last month, the cost of a license plate in Shanghai again broke record, which really confuses me. Why are we not taking buses to work? Why are we not taking metro to school? Why should we always drive our own cars? If we insist on the current life style, then we cannot really complain about the pollution around. Because it is we ourselves that cause this problem. Statistics have shown that the number of cars on the road is increasing much more quickly than that of the buses and metro trips combined. This is worrying, at leat for me.
