The effects of ABA sprayed in different concentration on the SOD, POD, CAT, MDA, conductivity and Pro (free proline) of maize seedling blades are studied. The result showed that after spraying ABA solution of 15, 20 and 25 μmol/L, the liveliness of SOD, POD and CAT increased notably and MDA content decreased to a certain extent while no significant change noted in Pro. As time goes by, the contents of SOD, POD and CAT reached the peak while the content of CAT reached the bottom after the spraying for 3 to 5 days, which suggested a high/strong oxidation resistance of the maize seedling.

Study on the effects of different concentrations of ABA on maize seedling leaf superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT), malondialdehyde (MDA), electrical conductivity and free proline (pro) effect. The results showed that, spraying 15, 20, 25 μ mol/L ABA solution of Maize Seedling Leaves of SOD, POD and CAT activity increased significantly, to a certain extent, and reduced the content of MDA, but Pro had no obvious change. After the treatment, with the passage of time, in the days when spraying 3-5, SOD, POD, CAT contents reached the highest, the content of MDA also reached the lowest, indicating enhanced antioxidant ability of maize seedlings
