很高兴回来看到你没有听我的，我又想了一会，刚才告诉你选A是不对的，应该选C。现删除了刚才的内容，把选C的理由解释如下：
1、BC不仅显得太过直接，不像专四的水平，更重要的是，这两个选项是能够互相排除的，如果能说“一个比我们希望的更多的成功”没理由不能说“一个和我们希望的一样多的成功”，既然不可能都对，那就只能都不对。
2、A其实是个常用搭配：more A than B。但这个搭配的意思是，与其说是B，不如说是A。与本句表达的意思并不相同，所以也不对。
3、C 如果把as much as去掉，剩下的 it was of a success 似乎也不怪异，大抵相当于 it was successful，加上as much as 之后，就是说这个成功和我们希望的一样。我觉得虽然没见过，但可以接受。
