How to learn Chinese well?

Dear Jim,

I’m very glad to write the letter to you. You want to know how to learn
Chinese well. I think the best way is to listen to the radio and watch
Chinese-language TV programs. Besides this, you’d better do some reading and
writing and speak Chinese as much as possible. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes.
You can learn it not only from books but also from the Chinese people all around
you. They are all very helpful. Nothing is difficult if you put your heart into
