1,10- phenanthroline is a commonly used chelating ligand, which plays an important role in organic synthesis as an imtermediate. And its variants are widely applied in different fileds. 1,10-Phenanthroline has an unique rigid planar structure, and the good electron donor N atom(最好写出是什么基团吧)attached can easily coordinate with metal ions,which makes it an important intermediate in noble compounds synthesis. In the past few years, many 1,10-phenanthroline derivatives were synthesised by functionalisation on different positions of 1,10-phenanthroline.
