My View on Beauty

A couple days ago, when I was watching TV programmes, I happened to see that an eighten years old girl wanted to sell one of her kidney in exchange for a beatiful face, hoping to find a good job through plastic surgery and live a happy life. According to her statements, she is very short and ugly , but , in fact , she is not ugly but just is a plain girl like most of us. So, today I want to say something about man-made beauty.
As the development of the society, it seems that clothes makes one beautiful in traditional way can’t satisfy people any more. Now, they are trying their best to seek any chance that can make them seem more beautiful and attractive, even through the way of receiving plastic surgery, which gives me a shock.
The desire for beautiful appearance is one of human natures. Perhaps, receiving plastic surgery really means something to them for they at least turn more attractive anyway. But does this practice really do no harm to them? ---- Of course, my answer is not. Every coins have two sides, while the practice has been making you appears beautiful, it might as well has done some harm to you body at the same time. One’s appearance is given by his parents, it is decided by the genes that he inherited from his parents and it is a part of his life. Try to imagine, when you have done the torturous operation, your original body structure would be reformed as well, your body system will have been disordered inevitably. And the reform may bring great harm to you body for many people who ever had had plastic surgery have proved that. What’ more, the advocating for such a practice will mislead people in the judgment of true beauty. As far as I am concerned,the concept of beauty is quite rich in its content. It should include virtues like goodness, honesty, diligence and etc, which should be the real mainstream of our spiritual life. The practice and some contests about man-made beauty will confuse those who are to develop correct concept of beauty.
Concerning the above possible harms the operation may bring about, we should oppose to it anyway and advocate seeking true and natural beauty . We should improve ourselves through enhancing our own moral characters and abilities to make ourselves and more beautiful and more qualified to a job instead of receiving plastic surgery while we can't choose our appearnces.

Everyone is attracted by beauty and beauty is powerful. But what is true beauty? Perhaps you can get the answer from the following story.
This morning I went to the market to buy some vegetables with my parents. On the way we all highly praised a young man in western-style clothes and leather shoes who was riding by. But he rode so fast that he knocked an old lady down carelessly.Instead of stopping, he pretended not to see this and rode away quickly. We were all very angry with the young man. To our happiness, a girl in plain dress ran forward at once, helped the lady up and took her home. We all praised the girl.
From this we know we cannot judge a person by his appearance. A person who is dressed beautifully may not have a beautiful soul. Only a person who has a beautiful soul is really beautiful.
