Based on our previous work on the synthesis of open-framework cobalt phosphites in a hydro/solvothermal system,18,19 we extended our research to investigating the role of the solvent. Presently, we have prepared three new cobalt phosphites with 1D [C4N2H12][Co(HPO3)2] (1), 2D [(C4N2H12)0.5(C2NH8)][Co2(HPO3)3] (2), and 3D [C2NH8]2[Co3(HPO3)4] (3) structures in the presence of the same organic amine under solvothermal conditions. All compounds are built up from vertex-sharing CoO4 tetrahedra and HPO3 pseudo-pyramids, resulting in extended structures of different
