析：what she did (代looked) three years ago. 是纯名词性从句，作from的宾语，没有疑问的意味。
D项也可以引导名词性从句，一般是从疑问句变来的，如：I don't know how I can get there. (宾从）=I have no idea how I can get there. (同位语从句）。The question is how I can get there. （表语从句），也可以是纯名词性的，
=the way sb. does sth. 如：That was how he did it. =That was the way he did it.
本题句中的she did中的did并不是行为动词do而是助动词（替代动词），用来代替looked的。
what she did 3 years ago并不是三年前她所做的事情，而是what she looked 3 years ago.
这里的looks/looked是系动词，类似的句子：
She is no longer what she was three years ago.
所以这一题，我还是坚持A正确！！！

评：此题有争议，也有些问题。选C，最好是：

如选A的话，删掉at:

PS：确实Where从句有三种词性和作用：
定语从句。This is the place where he lives.
名词性从句 This is where he lives.(where= the place where-定语从句）
状语从句 There is a river where he lives.（where= in the place where-定语从句）
请问 There is a river in where he lives. 对吗？
一般认为，where从句已经包含了介词（in, at, on/ to) 在内（from,等除外），所以上句几乎没有人这么说（不符合简洁的原则，但有人可以会反问：不是where= the place where-定语从句吗？所以in where-从句=in the place where-定从啊！）选A者就是基于这个思维。
所以我说，如果选A，则应去掉at., 选C，最后将the school放到表语地位。

值得注意的是，doubt也可以直接用于肯定句，后还跟that-从句(that可省略）后跟that-从句（that可以省略）=to consider unlikely: I doubt that John will come.

A 因为what在从句中做主语、表语或宾语，that在从句中不做成份，只起连接作用。所以排除C因为from ____ she did three years ago，可见要选的答案做did的宾语。B和D 在句子中是做状语的。
