但在土耳其语里 火鸡这个单词是”hindi“――印度。为什么叫印度呢？
土耳其本地有这么一种诙谐的说法，土耳其人吃的火鸡大多都是从印度进口的，所以他们就觉得印度是火鸡的故乡，个人觉得更有一种摆脱自身困境的嫌疑~于是整个土耳其就把火鸡命名为印度的简称“hindi”。
