周一就要上台演讲了，现在还没准备，只有这样了...我今年大一，篇幅不要太长，大概300~400个单词吧..由于我的英语极差，简直差的没天理..请各位英语前辈不要来太难的单词..呵呵 谢谢大家了！我还会再追加的

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, I can say I am no less nervous than my fellow contestants and many of them are on the first time coming before this room. I can say ladies and gentlemen, that the problem we are facing before us, the problem that I have to deal with today, is what do I go to college for?
In the past, only the rich and privileged had the opportunity to attend a university and their goals were very different. Coming from wealthy family, few of them would have to compete for a job after graduation, and most wised only to be considered well-educated. Now, people attend college or university for many different reasons. for example，we experience, career preparation, increased knowledge. But，for me, the main reason why I go to college is it can teach me how I can be a true man .
Let me first tell you a story of a young male college student, not long ago, he was a very silent boy. He did not want to open his mouth and talk with others. The only thing he would do is reading, watching some TV shows and does some sports by him. He felt very shy, esp. when a stranger comes to him. He would rather stay at home than go outside. And he did not have a friend. After he entered the college, he found all the things were strange to him. At first, he had to speak with his roommates. They are talking about Jordan, Beckham and playing ball games on the ground together. Not long before he recognizes that he become talkative and outer. One of his classmates ever said to him:’ I never thought you are so pretty when you are smiling’. From then on, he become very popular and had his own close friends. He no longer is afraid of communicating with others now. My dear friends, now can you guess who that young college student is? It is me .who is standing here and speaking to you in earnest and sincerity.
Besides, the college can make me mature. As is known to all, the college is a stage to the society. We shall face some realities. Maybe there ate problems I ever could not understand. And I always pointed out the faults on somebody directly. But now, I would never do it again. Because I know everyone in the society should have his own respect and face. If I need to make some question clear at sometimes, I will ask for the answers in an indirect and polite way. As I am working on the students union, I quite know the importance of teamwork. There is an old story suggest that in China:(众人拾柴火焰高)The college life just teach me some ways of involving the problems.
Finally, the college provides me with individuals. There are so much spared time for us to do anything we like .For example, I like chess, so I join in the chess association in our college. Although almost I failed every time in the competition always start it again. I enjoy the course of this. So I can do anything I like. That is fantastic for me.
I want to and my speed by quoting from Mr.Nixm:“Our dusting offers, not the cup of despair, but the chalice of opportunity.”I should try my best to hold every available opportunities in the college to make me better and better, and then be a true man.

when i am a child, i have a dream about university. i dream i can get fully free in university, can make a lot of friends, can study thoes project what i have interest in. i always make this kind of imagination in my brain.
but in fact, i found so much field i had never touched, every aspect is a new challenge for me. i enjoy challenge, i have enough confidence to learn them and hold them for my future life and job.

Everyone has a dream.
Now I want to say something about my dream. What is my dream? I often ask myself. In my mind, everyone shall have his own dream. I think that having a dream means that we have an idea, and then we will do all the things to achieve the target. As long as we have a goal to be realized, we won’t be blind at least.
My dream is to become a successful doctor, helping those sick people and saving their lives. Of course, to be a good doctor is very difficult, but I will do whatever I can do to keep everyone healthy. That's my dream. I want to try my best to help the poor sick people of our country. I want to let them have an opportunity to receive excellent treatments for their illnesses without having to pay much or just enjoy them free. China is a developing country which needs good medicine and good doctors, especially in the countryside and distant villages.
Now I’m a junior student on Grade One, all my classmates and I are working hard. We all know that the entrance exam of high schools coming in the year of 2009 is a big challenge for us, so we must study harder and harder in order to go to a good high school. Thus after we finish our senior high school, we are able to go to a good university. Finally, we can find a good job in society.
My dream is also that although at present I’m good at study, I’ll still try my best to be the study winner. Now everything I do is close to my dream. I feel life is fill with hope and is colorful, and I have enough confidence to realize my dream.
I know that fantasy is something hard to realize, but dream can. I’ll work hard for my dreams, I’ll never give up.
