最初的锡纸真的是锡造的，现代的铝箔纸（亦作铝箔）降低后，铝箔取代了锡纸，但是大家还称之为锡纸。

印刷的“锡纸烫”= Aluminium foil stamping, aluminium foil hot stamping, aluminium foil dry stamping, aluminium foil imprinting 或 aluminium foil leaf stamping。
