The Internet was a great invention of
the last century. With its invention,
the whole world has been changed and our life has been changed too. We can read
books without going to libraries; we can do shopping without going to
department stores; we can travel wherever we want to without leaving our home;
we can talk to people known or unknown. Because of the Internet, the world is
more exciting, and our life is more colorful. However, when we enjoy the
advantages the Internet has brought us, we should not ignore the disadvantages.
The Internet also has many negative effects on our life. Cybersex, on--line
gambling and chatting have become a drug for many lonely people. They have
become addicted. The longer they stay on line, the more difficult it is for
them to cope with the real world. Gradually, they show a lack of interest in
work and study, and try to escape from reality.
