To understand the meaning of the story within a story within a story,first we have to separate the narratives one by one. The most realistic story,namely the realistic narrative told by the author directly based on hisempirical experience is the ongoing motion of “telling a story” of the story of Pi, within which, the narration conducted by Pi at the age that enables him toisolate himself out of the story setting is unfolded. Further illustrated isthe last and innermost narrative, which sets right in the sea where all theplots are elaborated and animated. In addition to these three narratives,another analogical story, though not serving as a clear narrative, is beingtold by the author, or say his projection in the book. And it is the dynamic symbolismcorrelating the real and imagined worlds together.
