几个高一英语问题

我知道答案是A，但能否解释一下这句话的意思？另外whom在此句中做什么成分？为什么不用them?Them似乎也说的通啊

从句还原不是we spent on the small island in the days,为什么不用when引导呢？

1 这句话意思是大约有2000人在这个项目中工作，他们中的许多人曾经失业。英语中一句话只能有一个动词。如果是them，原句就应该是两句话了：About 2000 people worked on the project. Many of them were those who had been out of work. 代词Many 成了第二句的主语。否则一句话里就有worked和were两个动词了。
whom 在这里指代前面的people，本来因该是who were those who had...但是前面有了个many of，介词of 后面跟宾格，就是who了。

2 从句还原错了。应该是we spent the days on the island.Spend是及物动词，days 是宾语。所以是that不是when 也不是on which。

语法里那几个从句不是一两句说得清楚的。可说的内容太多。你有具体问题可以给我发消息。

1 英语句子不是不能有两个主语，只不能有两个动词。比如Jim and I work in this company.不就是两个动词么。

2 spend 作为及物动词后面不加介词 spend two days on the work/spend 100 yuan on the book

1、看见两个句子中间的逗号了吧，这证明这是一个句子，在一个句子中不能出现两个主语，whom引导非限制性定语从句指代前面的2000 people，用them就变成两个句子了....

2、从句还原不是we spent on the small island in the days，而是We spent on days on the small island.

至于语法，你慢慢来么，才高一，现在就说完其实效果不好，跟着慢慢学效果比较好
