When we are reading something in English,we may often meet new words.How can we know a new word?
We may look it up in an English-Chinese dictionary.It can tell us a lot about the word:the pronunciation,the payt of speech(词性），the Chinese meaning,etc.There are so many woyds in the dictionary.How can we find it quickly and correctly(正确地）？
In fact,all the words are put in alphabetical order(按字母顺序） in most English-Chinese dictionaries.You can first see the words begining with the letter A,then B,C,D...That is if there are two words “dessert”and“pull”,“dessert”is certainly before“pull”.If there are two words both begining with the same letter,then you may look at the secod letter,then the third,the fourth...For example,“pardon”is before“play”,“black”before“blue”.
