i don't know as many people as you do

书上给出的翻译是，我认识的人没你多。我怎么死活看不懂，不是应该not as as,他是not know as as。还有一般两个as之间是个形容词，他怎么是many people啊。

as...as的结构：

1）在否定句或疑问句中可用so… as。

2）当as… as 中间有名词时采用以下格式。
as +形容词+ a +单数名词
