Firstly, literature is a symbol of culture. I can learn various culture from reading different countries' literrature.

Secondly, it broaden my knowledge and also teach me some useful skills. From military to history,from politics to human instinct. It conclude such a huge information.

What's more, everyone can benefit from the literature. It can foster my interest in writing and reading, and peace my mood.
What's the most important is that literature told me how to enjoy daily life.

It's very difficult to appreciate poetry in a foreign or second language. You have to think of poetry in your own language - do you understand all the beauty of that? I'm sure you do - but only after years of study and a complete mastery of your own language. The same thing will happen in a second language if you start with simple poems first, and then go on to more complicated ones as your knowledge and understanding grow. But it takes a long time - just don't give up.
